Racial Equality Leader Needs Your Help

Greetings community, my name is Darin.

I'm an activist and a community organizer. Inspired by the senseless death of George Floyd, and the current economic crisis that threatens the well-being of so many, I have been on the front lines of the Black Lives Matter movement here in Madison, WI, organizing local businesses in the fight for social justice every day since May 30th. To date, I have raised over $7,000 for the homeless through art auctions and fundraisers in partnership with Black Umbrella Global and the Social Justice Center of Madison.

I am partnering with the Black Lives Matter movement on behalf of Black Umbrella Global to raise $8,000 by December 1st, 2020 to benefit the pressing BLM social justice crisis, and to support the effort in Madison to feed and house the homeless. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to use personal resources to help shelter, feed, and clothe the homeless in our community for about six months, but now my resources have run out. A small percentage of the money raised will go towards very basic personal needs (i.e. modest room and food stipend) so that I may remain on the frontline in this fight.

Additionally, I will continue to reach out to local and national organizations to help me identify funding source and potential grant opportunities.
