October 1st, 2017 Rachelle went to the ER thinking she had a gallstone. The test results revealed she had Cancer, what kind could not determent at the time. You can imagine what that would feel like the waiting and not knowing the severity of the Cancer. As her daughters we were praying for the best outcome possible and preparing for the worst. In severe pain and unable to hold down food, Rachelle carried on with doctors appointments and countless tests still getting up and going to work through it all.
October 19th just 18 days after her ER trip, the results of her PET scan came back. Rachelle was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer that had metastasized to her liver, limp nodes in her shoulder and her ribs. The news was devastating to her and our whole family. Just a month prior she celebrated her 58th birthday and her 11th wedding anniversary healthy and happy with our family around her.
Rachelle started an aggressive form of Chemotherapy on October 23rd the treatment has been unforgiving on her body sending her to the hospital twice with numerous side effects. Rachelle is currently in the hospital now trying to get her blood cells counts back up before venturing on to a new chemotherapy treatment. She has insurance but even with insurance the co-pays and deductibles are mounting and with her not being able to work anymore and her husband being retired they have a limited income. I am setting up this account for Rachelle to help relieve some of the mounting medical cost that they have and will continue to incur.
