Rachel's Major Teeth Surgery
Donation protected
Today brings me great sadness and hope. My daughter-in-law Rachel found out this week, she has to have several surgeries for her mouth. She has over 70% gum wear which is making her teeth deteriorate rapidly. It is interfering with her ability to eat, drink and talk. She has been going to her insured dentist’s all along for routine checkups, but none of them ever told her this vital information. Her teeth have been causing severe pain and discomfort with her jaw. They informed her to see a specialist ASAP. She went to a specialist and paid out pocket, since it was not covered by insurance. This is when they diagnosed her and telling her it has eaten away 30% of her jaws.
She immediately informed her dad and her husband (my son). Her dad told her that her grandmother lost all of her teeth by the time she was 30 years old. Which was something Rachel never knew. We are extremely worried it might be hereditary as Rachel is 30 years-old now. Unfortunately, her teeth have been slowly falling and breaking, over the years, even when she’s went to the dentists and had them worked on. In the past, she’s told me of how she bled from her gums, from as early as a toddler, when she’d wake up in a bloody pillow, because she’d unknowingly bled from her mouth overnight.
The procedure was initially $14,026, but now she’s being told it will cost $22,000 (actual bill attached) she needs a couple of surgeries and lots of dental work. A lot of work will have to be done on her gums and teeth to keep them from all falling out and breaking as they are even from just eating a regular meal to making her healthy again and out of pain.
Rachel loves to make TikToks and YouTube videos of my 3 beautiful grandkids, my son and their family. She loves to teach us all about her beautiful African culture and all the amazing things it has to offer. I have personally learnt so much from her since the day she walked into our lives. She’s an amazing Mother to my Grandbabies, an awesome wife to my son Gabriel and also one of my best friends even as a daughter in law. She lost her own Mom at only 8 years old and has since been a mother figure to many from a very young age. Anyone who knows my daughter-in-law will tell you that she would remove the shirt off her back for anyone she saw in need.
I know it’s a very rough time for a lot of people right now but let’s show her (and her beautiful smile) some love anything you can give is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking time to read this and any help you can give.
