Lupus Treatment For Rachel Cagle

My friend, Rachel Brewton Cagle, was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus (Lupus of the skin) in 2005 and Systemic Lupus (SLE) in 2010. In the last year the disease has become more advanced and Rachel was required to have surgery in May. Unfortunately, nothing has worked to slow the progress of the Lupus and she now has to have a series of treatments that are extremely expensive, especially considering that she is a single mother of two girls and a teacher.
I have watched Rachel become more and more stressed every day over how she will pay for her treatments and if you don't know anything about Lupus, stress only makes things worse. She even goes so far as to work in New Orleans to make extra money as an Uber driver whenever she isn't in school. I am starting this campaign for her because she would never do it for herself. She WILL, however, do plenty of things to help other people. Rachel even went so far as to create a GoFundMe page for a good friend of hers that has Lymphoma. As a teacher at a juvenile detention center, she has bought snacks, books and anything else that would motivate her boys or help them further their education. Rachel only has two girls of her own, but you would think she has no less than ten children by the way that she is constantly doing whatever she can to make sure her boys have what they need. Rachel pushes through the flares caused by this awful disease to ensure that she is always there for her two girls as well as "her boys" on a daily basis. Failing them is not an option.
Rachel does whatever she can to hide her pain and fears caused by Lupus because she doesn't want anyone to feel sorry for her. She feels that there are too many other people in this world that are in far greater need and more deserving than her. I do not believe this. I believe Rachel deserves to get the treatment she needs without the stress of how she will pay for it.
