Our sister Rachel Archuleta has recently been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Rachel had a clean bill of health for nearly a year when she was hit with the news that her Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) had metastasized to her bone and her lungs. Metastatic Breast Cancer currently is incurable but treatable.
The cancer that has metastasized to her lung has made it difficult for her to breath, as well as having fluid build up in her lungs. This makes it difficult for Rachel to walk long distances, and as of now , she has to be on oxygen 24/7. We are hopeful that with chemotherapy, and a clinical trial, her symptoms will subside and the heaviness in her chest will be lifted.
Rachel had just started a new job with Presbyterian Hospital when she had to stop working due complications from the cancer .We looking to raise funds for her ongoing medical expenses as well living expenses. She will endure chemotherapy every three weeks, each session will be 6 hours. She will have to travel to Albuquerque frequently for doctors appointments as well as the chemotherapy treatments. Rachel has been so giving and so helpful to so many of us, it is now our turn to help her in her time of need. Most of all please keep Rachel in your prayers !
