Medical Internship for Mohammed Rabiu

Mohammed Rabiu Abdulai (Rabiu), is a final year medical student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana.

He has a wonderful opportunity to do his final internship abroad at the University of Silesia in Poland. Given the immense need for highly trained doctors in Ghana, internships abroad are a key strategy in building up Ghana's human capacity and infrastructure. This is a more sustainable way of meeting the country's needs than continuously soliciting foreign aid.

Rabiu grew up in the Upper East Region of Ghana which is one of the country's poorest regions. It's rare to have a doctor hailing from the Upper East, so he has a tremendous opportunity to become an important healthcare asset in this community. Read more about healthcare in the Upper East here.
