Rabbit Runaway Orphanage: Post Lockdown

During COVID-19, Rabbit Run-Away Orphanage has been unable to fundraise!   All of our usual fundraising activities were cancelled when the pandemic hit.  As we are all volunteer run, we are not eligible for any government support.

However,the need for vet care has not stopped for more than 200 special needs rabbits in our foster program as well as a new rabbits coming in like Loui, that require surgeries and vet care.  Our annual budget for vet care alone is in the vicinity of $120,000.  All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.



 HOW WE ARE MANAGING!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, with hardly any funds coming in, we have reduced our intake of new animals, in an attempt to stay open.  However, the vet care for our foster rabbits has not reduced.  We are also taking in some rabbits from 'emergency' situations, and we have others on a waiting list for when funds are available for their surgeries.  

Some of our foster buns have spent time in animal emergency to give them the best chance of recovery.   Sadly some have died, but we still need to pay for their emergency care.


We have many bunnies recovering from recent surgeries, where the bills still need to be paid.
