Leonardo Diaz Memorial Fund

Leo was an amazing soul who fought long and hard to stay alive.  Alas, this amazing fighter went to heaven leaving behind a loving a devoted wife, two amazing sons and a family who adored and loved him as well as countless friends who he touched deeply.  I'm one of those friends who he touched.  And I want to help his widow, Ivonne, in any way I can.  Leo wanted so much to live to be able to see his sons grow and chase their dreams.  He wanted to live to be able to love his amazing and devoted wife.  And he fought for as long as his body could, traveling to NYC for one last fight.  Needless to say his fight was costly.  I know because my mother fought for 11 months and it was brutal...but Leo fought for many, many years, always with a huge smile and unwavering faith.  His wife, sons and family are devastated to say the least.  Although spiritually they know Leo is in a better place and no longer suffering, the harsh reality is that there is a widow left to raise a college student and a younger one still in school.  I'm not sure how they are doing financially, but I can only guess.  Last time I spoke with Leo he was concerned about what he would leave behind, but also believed that God would provide.  There are astronomical medical bills, final arrangements expenses, college expenses for their son, mortgage, etc., etc.  Whatever funds are raised will be used to help this amazing family.  Leo was more than a friend to me.  More than what we used to call each other...BFF.  Leo was my brother.  Maybe not by blood.  But he was my brother just the same.  Please help me help my brother's family by alleviating some of the financial burden of his absence.
