Save Sammy

Sam is our Siamese cat.  He was recently diagnosed with a cancerous growth on his throat near the thyroid gland.  He requires immediate surgery to save his life.  The vet has assured us that there is a good chance to save Sam and with the removal of the growth and chemo therapy, he should recover completely.  I am sure that animal lovers will understand when I say that Sam is our child.  My wife and I were denied the privilege of having children, and Sam is our child.  He is loved greatly.  However, the operation and after treatment will be expensive and we are incapable of paying it.  I am elderly and disabled (though not on disability) and my wife recently lost her job which she has held for more than thirty years.  We are struggling to make our rent and stay off the streets.  My wife works two jobs to sustain us.  But Sam's life is priority.  Without the operation and treatment, he will die.  Please help us save our beloved Sam.  We will be grateful beyond words.
