<div>On June 19, 2024, our Carroll Gardens community lost Eliana, a kind, joyful, and deeply loved 9-year-old girl to childhood cancer. She is remembered with great affection by her parents, Marianne and Adil, her younger sister and brother, and by all who knew her through PS 58 and beyond.

<div>In collaboration with her family and the PS 58 community, we are creating a special garden corner at the school to honor Eliana’s memory. It will be a quiet, welcoming space where students can pause, reflect, and feel connected. For her siblings, who attend the same school, we hope it will offer a place of comfort. For the rest of us, it is a small but meaningful way to show that Eliana is remembered.

<div>This project has already brought our community together in inspiring ways. A generous local vendor, Mazzone’s Hardware on Court Street, donated gardening materials, and students are helping to raise funds through lemonade stands and bake sales. We are now inviting anyone who would like to be part of this effort to contribute.

<div>Your donation, in any amount, will help us bring Eliana’s Memorial Garden to life and create something lasting. Whether you knew Eliana and her family personally or simply wish to support these efforts, this is a way for all of us to come together and build something beautiful in her name.

<div><strong>Jardin du Souvenir d’Eliana : Un Hommage de Notre Communauté</strong>

<div>Chères familles, chers amis, voisins et membres de la communauté,
</div>
<div>Le 19 juin 2024, notre communauté de Carroll Gardens a perdu Eliana, une fillette de 9 ans, douce, joyeuse et profondément aimée, emportée par un cancer pédiatrique. Elle laisse dans le cœur de ses parents, Marianne et Adil, de sa petite sœur, de son petit frère, ainsi que de tous ceux qui l’ont connue à l’école PS 58 et au-delà, un souvenir impérissable.

<div>En collaboration avec sa famille et la communauté de PS 58, nous souhaitons créer un espace de jardin dédié au sein de l’école, afin d’honorer la mémoire d’Eliana. Ce lieu paisible et accueillant offrira aux élèves un endroit pour se recueillir, réfléchir et se sentir connectés. Pour son frère et sa sœur, qui fréquentent également l’école, nous espérons que ce jardin sera une source de réconfort. Pour nous tous, il s’agit d’un geste modeste mais porteur de sens, pour témoigner qu’Eliana demeure présente dans nos pensées.

<div>Ce projet a déjà rassemblé notre communauté de façon inspirante. Un commerçant local, Mazzone, a généreusement offert du matériel de jardinage, et les élèves participent à la collecte de fonds à travers des stands de limonade et des ventes de pâtisseries. Nous invitons désormais toutes les personnes désireuses de s’associer à cette initiative à y contribuer.

<div>Quel que soit son montant, votre don nous aidera à donner vie au Jardin du Souvenir d’Eliana et à créer un hommage durable. Que vous ayez connu personnellement Eliana et sa famille, ou que vous souhaitiez simplement soutenir ce projet, c’est l’occasion pour nous tous de nous unir et de bâtir ensemble quelque chose de beau en sa mémoire.
