Help Chris Cape beat Cancer!!!!

Donation protected
I am raising money to help my little brother beat Colon Cancer.  He turned 37 the same week that the doctors told him that he has Stage III Colon Cancer.  He and his fiance have a 2 year old son and are pregnant with their second baby boy.  Due to the symptoms, numerous appointments, and the nature of his job, he is unable to go back to work at this time and likely will be out for at least 9-12 months.    During this time he will be doing a potent chemotherapy for 4 to 6 months, followed by 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments, followed by (hopefully) surgery to remove the aggressive tumor.  From there, it is likely a temporary or permanent colostomy bag.  This is the hopeful path barring complications.

All this while having a new baby and raising a toddler.  My heart breaks for them and I want to do as much as I can to ease the burden that they face.  They do not live near family.  Much of the support system will be flying or driving to and from their home.  Both of them are missing work due to doctors appointments, etc.  and the stress of the financial burden to them is already insurmountable.  His out of pocket is $10,000 which is definitely going to run into next year as well so $20,000 minimum in medical bills on top of the delivery of their next child and everything that goes along with having a new baby.  This isn't even scratching the surface of the cost of living bills that will start to add up as they both are limited on working at the moment.

Neither of them were keen on setting up a funding account at first, but as the stress of the bills has begun to compound, on top of the fear of losing the father of their children, they agreed to let me try to help at least lessen some of the financial worries of this battle.  I work in a hospital and care for patients everyday with cancer.  I have been telling them about my brother and how exhausting, scary, and life changing this has been for my family.  I have a new profound understanding of what each of my patients are going through.   I have never been so anxious and scared for someone until now.  I feel confident and hopeful that we will get through this but it will be a long battle along the way.

One way that I feel everyone could help is to donate a few bucks to help them get through this.  There are so many financial setbacks right now.  Travel to and from appointments, missed work, chemo and medical bills, on top of the stress of having a new baby which is supposed to be a happy family time.  Please, please considering donating to this cause.  Together, let’s help ease some of this financial stress so that they can focus on healing and being happy as a family!!!  Even as little as a few dollars will help!!!   If you can't spare a few dollars at this time, we'd still appreciate your prayers, good vibes, energy and whatever else you think will help!!   Thank you for caring and please share if you support our cause!!!
