I got a text message from Joe this morning asking me to let him know when I wasn't busy, so I let him know I was just sitting at home. A few seconds later he FaceTimed me and said he was in the hospital so I asked him why and he turned the camera to show me. For those of you that know Joe he's had a long battle with diabetes, he's had a lot of ups and downs with it recently having to have a toe amputated because of it. Joe is the most selfless person I know, constantly giving and never asking for anything. He works his ass off and always has, was always there to help with his family. He has always been like a brother to me, and my kids have always called him Uncle Jose. So when he turned the camera and I noticed he was missing his left leg from the knee down I was in complete shock!! He explained that he had a staph infection that they think was caused from a sore on his right foot, and that the infection had gotten so bad that they had no choice other than to amputate! Joe is my brother and I would do anything to help him out, so I'm hoping that setting up this gofundme will help him out with some of his mounting medical expenses!! Anything you can donate would greatly help, as he will be hopefully transferring to a rehab facility for a short time and then living with his brother David.
