Our good friend Melissa Maldonado had a fire at her house. Please read her story...
Thank you, everyone. I'm so thankful me and my family are okay. This has been a rough year for us. I was laid off and have been looking for a job. Both of my sons were laid off as well. I am finally back to work with a good company, but only 2 weeks in on this job. I haven't been able to afford homeowners insurance, so this is exactly what we didn't need to happen right now. We were woken up by an explosion and our dog barking at 1 a.m. due to a fire. The fireman had to pull off the siding and skirting as it was burning inside the walls and underneath the home. It also burned the electricity throughout our kitchen, which we can no longer use. But all I care about right now is that we are all safe and sound. The firefighter sent out a contractor this morning who said to clean up and repair would be around $12,000 to $15,000. Again, thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers.
