I'll be honest, this is a lot for me.
What I have gone through over the past week is something that I hope nobody should experience. My mother, as of yesterday, passed away tragically of heart failure due to a long battle with an enlarged heart. She was an amazing mother of three, I was the oldest and my two younger siblings, aged 4 and 6, who are both wonderful young kids. She constantly put her kids above anything else in the world which is ultimately what cost her her life. Despite how many fights we got in or how little money we had she made damn sure I was comfortable and was able to have a good childhood. I remember once when we barely had money to keep the lights on she scraped together some money so she could get me a birthday present. She was in the hospital for about a week and was very sick, but to say that her death was unexpected is putting it lightly. It's so hard to believe that she's gone because she was the only constant in my life as friends and family came and went due to constant moving, and her strong and charming personality reverberates throughout the halls of my house even in death.
As you might guess, my family doesn't have a lot of money and in fact we have even less now due to my mothers absence. We receive disability since near everybody in my house is disabled in some regard with the exception of me and my four year old brother (Mom had a variety of things wrong with her, my stepfather can't walk due to working 20 years in black top, my young sister is a high-functioning autistic). However, my mother received the most money out of all of us and was essentially the breadwinner of the household. With her gone we have even less money than what was essentially a month to month existence beforehand and I plan on giving her a nice funeral since she suffered enough in life. I really hate asking others for things since I've had to do it most of my life, but if you're reading this all I ask is that you donate whatever you can to lighten the financial burden her passing has brought, and help her get the ceremony that she so deserves. Thank you.
