Dear Family and Friends of Erin Palmer Sunday,
Last week Erin received the news no one is ever prepared for: Cancer
Erin went to the emergency room with what she thought was tummy trouble and by the Grace of God, the doctor ordered a CT scan instead of a routine x-ray. The scan revealed, Renal Cell Carcinoma Cancer in her left kidney, a tumor the size of a grapefruit.
We are reaching out to you, asking for financial help. As you can imagine, this comes with a range of emotion. None of us would be prepared for this type of journey. Erin's treatment plan, at this time, consists of an MRI (to determine if her liver is involved) - surgery to remove her kidney and if Erin's adrenal glands and lymph nodes are involved, the doctor will remove them as well. She will then begin chemotherapy.
To add to an already complex situation, Erin recently changed jobs and has been with her current employer 4 months, with zero sick days remaining. Although she has insurance that covers 75% of eligible services, they will look to Erin for any remaining balances and necessary non covered expenses, which we all know, can be astronomical these days.
We all know Erin, and yes, she balked at the idea of a Go Fund Me Page. The thought of people knowing or of asking for help, was something she was against. However, her Tribe of girlfriends here in Tucson, INSISTED.
This is what brings us to ask for any help you can provide. There is no amount too small to make a difference. Erin will have both immediate and long term financial needs and though this mountain may seem high, each of our contributions, together, will help build the ladder to reach the other side.
Sometimes it really does take a village of caring people, coming together to support one another and here is our chance....
