Why Should We Help You? You ask a good question, there are other people with more severe situations, medical issues, etc but I would like to explain the last several years have been a relentless onslaught of suffering:
In the past several years I have cared for my mom through Cancer, 2 extensive spinal surgeries, and an overmedicated fall resulting in a serious concussion and week long hospital stay.

I have searched, applied and failed for 5 years for a full time job in any industry I could (Trader Joe's wouldn't hire me). My master's and 15 year career was essentially null and void. I have since started my second Master's program in the hopes of becoming a full time teacher. I will have that in 12 months and struggle as a substitute in the times between.

I have been a single mom since day one and have had 4 nights away in 7 years.

I was abandoned by the one person who was like a father to me and had was there for me every day since I was a small child after he (attempted to) sexually assault me 5 years ago.

I have gotten through all this with resilience, optimism and hope. I have never stopped trying or stopped working. I have lost friends who I thought would always be there for me, I have gained new friends who surprised me with their help but I am, for the most part, utterly alone. It is hard to ask for help, especially money, but when you have to, you have to. This past week, after finally being able to move into a place where Connor could have his own space for the first time, I was hit with a triple whammy of broken toilet, broken washer and failed transmission.

I can make it through the first 2, but must have a working vehicle. My car is with a trusted mechanic but will cost 3500$ to fix. I can only sell my car as is for 1000$ and cannot find a running car for that cost. I am asking for help in fixing my car so I can continue my difficult road to what I hope will someday be happiness and involve something other than constant struggle.

Thank you,
Caitlyn
