Right to Roam is an outdoors-oriented podcast that focuses on the conservation of our public lands and the myriad of resources that abound within those wild spaces. The balance between science and anecdote is a fine one which is why Lee, Chris, Sam, and Adam (your hosts) and their guests rely heavily on the mantra, “You’re entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts.”
Right to Roam has been a labor of love from the beginning - your hosts are dedicated to volunteering as much time and as many resources as they can in service of the podcast. We started Right to Roam to foster conversations that spur and engage our passion for public lands and conservation.
And thanks to you, the listeners - we're growing. After a huge first year, in 2018 we've decided to move to a weekly production schedule - that means double the Right to Roam content. In addition to our regular, bimonthly long form episodes, we'll also be presenting episodes of "The Lowdown" every other week, to keep you updated on legislative and advocacy-focused news as it happens. This is something you asked for, and we're excited to be able to provide it!
To support this change, we're asking listeners to consider becoming "friends of the podcast" - when you chip in today, you'll be helping ensure that we can keep bringing you the great stories, science - and yes, soapbox moments - you've come to know and love (we hope). Also, every 25 dollars donated will put you in the running for one of these four grand prizes:
1) Sam will be donating a custom, hand-built self bow, with 12 custom arrows.
2) We are excited to anounce the Western Bear Foundation is adding a lifetime membership! This includes 1 Stone Glacier Avail 2200 pack, 1 life member WBF jacket, Plaque, hat lifelong subscription to bear hunting magazine, 2 life member decals, and some other little goodies!
3) We are also very excited to announce that Seek Outside will be donating a shelter - details will be anounced soon!
4) Finally, we will be giving away a First Lite Catalyst jacket - thank you to First Lite!
In order to keep making great content for you - and pursue new, listener-requested formats - we're going to need to invest in some new equipment that can weather the road ahead. Donations will go toward new microphones, recorders, cameras, computers, and the purchase of legal services and crucial software. And if donating in-kind is more your preference, take a look at the list of specific needs on our website.
