Let’s help Carol get home to farewell her sister
This fundraiser has been set up by Carol’s work colleagues at ActionAid Australia where Carol has worked for the past 8 years.
On Friday 16th October Carol’s youngest sister, Lydia, passed away suddenly in Kenya. Lydia had been very ill for many years and Carol has played a key role in supporting her and her family financially and emotionally through these challenging times.
Even though Carol lived overseas the bond between sisters has been incredibly strong. Carol has raised Lydia's daughter Mickal since she was a baby as a single mother and now grandmother.
Both Carol and Mickal are trying to get on a flight back to Nairobi for the funeral and to support Carol's elderly mother during this devastating time. The COVID-19 flight restrictions mean hugely expensive flight costs and hotel quarantine costs, not to mention the burial costs, so we want to support Carol by easing the financial stress at a time when she is grieving and desperate to be home with family.
Every bit of support, no matter big or small, will help Carol during this time.
