Hailey's Service Dog

Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Mike and I would like to tell you about Hailey, the little girl who stole my heart nearly six-years ago when I met her and her mother.  She is our youngest daughter and the youngest of our four children, two boys and two girls.
A little background about Hailey is she was born with some mental and physical limitations, including speech delay, hypotonia (low-muscle tone), A.D.D, O.C.D, mild mental-retardation and over-all has difficulty with fine-motor skills, and unfortunately over the past couple of years Hailey has begun having seizures (or as Hailey would say, "Shakes!")  As  you might imagine, outside of family, church and classmates, Hailey is not afforded the social-interaction that most little girls her age enjoy and she does not have that "best-friend" to confide in with her deepest thoughts or go to that slumber party with and sit up all night giggling and talking about boys and music and the lastest fashions.  So what does a parent do when these realities come crashing down on you?  I tell you what you do, you put aside your pride and humble yourself and ask for help!  Hence the reason we are reaching out to you all:
Hailey's mom, Penny, and I are asking our friends and family, on Hailey's behalf, for donations to help us purchase a service-dog.   In case you are not aware, a service-dog is not just a dog that walks around in an orange reflective vest to keep you from approaching the person they are with, on the contrary, a service-dog is trained in many areas and for many reasons; for example, to assist the person with the disability to assimilate more easily with others (kind of an ice-breaker) and not only is the dog trained to be by its owner's side at all times, it is trained to recognize the onset of a seizure, assist during emotional-melt downs by redirecting focus, and one of the most important aspects it can offer, is, a service-dog will be a best friend and never judge, and always make the owner feel happy and safe.  Not to mention that caring for the dog will help teach responsibility by feeding it, bathing it and walking it and will also help keep the owner moving and motivated through exercise.
[In essence a service dog will become Hailey's best friend, someone that is going to give Hailey the kind of unconditional love and respect that your best friend gives you all the while keeping her in line as your best friend may keep you in line from time to time.    :-)  And many other wonderful accolades that a service-dog will provide!]
There is so much more I would love to say about my little friend and daughter Hailey, but the truth is I cannot describe to you the love and admiration I have for this child, only God can read one's heart when it is a love that deep and intense!
Thank you in advance for your time and donation.  If you are unable to donate, we thank you for your prayers and your smile.

May God bless you!
