STAND BY AMY

Amy Kennedy our longtime friend and colleague was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 B Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Amy has just completed her second chemotherapy treatment at Union Hospital.  She is scheduled to receive additional chemotherapy treatments in Terre Haute in hopes of a cure. After her third treatment of chemotherapy, Amy will receive a PET Scan to monitor her progress.  If the chemotherapy is shown to be ineffective at this time, Amy will undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant in Indianapolis which we affectionately refer to as a “Star Trek” treatment. While transplants have become more frequent within the last decade, with improved prognosis and better recovery, they are still costly and require advance preparation for Amy’s time in the hospital and during her recovery afterward.

Amy is quickly depleting her sick time through her employer and does not have short-term disability.  Amy is the main provider for her family which includes a teenage daughter and a grandson.  Amy has always been the first person to step up and assist someone in need and now she needs us.  Those of us who know Amy respect that she is a very private person and would never ask for help unless desperately needed.

All funds generated from this account will be used to pay for costs associated with the treatment and subsistence of Amy and her family as she goes through the steps, seeking to be cured of this cancer.
