<div>Clifton Chenier, the Grammy-winning "King of Zydeco" music, was born June 25, 1925, near Opelousas, Louisiana. 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Clifton Chenier’s birth. The ZHPS is spearheading a fundraising effort to honor and recognize the centennial birth of Clifton Chenier by commissioning the design, construction and placement of a bronze statue for the late "King of Zydeco" music.
