My daughter and I's friend's, Joseph and Jennifer's 8yr old son, Joseph, started complaining of a headache, a day before Christmas, still maintaining his happy go lucky self! However, the headache persisted and a high temperature followed. They took him to the ER and the Drs, believed it was meningitis. The spinal tab fluids came back negative and they were sent home with pain medication. On Christmas Eve, Joseph's forehead was the size of a golf ball. Turns out he has a severe case of sinusitis that turned out to be a brutal infection in his sinus and in his brain, causing a blood clot. He was transported to Standford Hospital by ambulance Christmas Eve. He underwent surgery to clear his sinuses, he had to undergo the same surgery again yesterday. They are monitoring the blood clot and he his on blood thinners. Joseph has a bilateral cleft lip and cleft palate baby and also autistic. The Drs, told them they may be in Standford for up to 6 weeks. We are asking for help to maintain the families, rent, bills, food, etc. They were told they may be there up to six weeks. They also have a 15 yr old son at home. They thank you and we thank you for you support!
