Kenya Mission Trip

Donation protected
I'm not the "I've always wanted to go to Africa on a mission trip" kind of girl.  In fact I've probably said more than once that I'll support others but Lord please don't send me.  So here's what changed all that.

While visiting family in Seattle last month, I attended a Garden Party with a group of ladies from Women's Enterprises International that had all been to Kenya. They were all so enthusiastic about raising funds for more water tanks, even though most of them weren't going back.  Their hearts were "all in" for this project and it was contagious.

A few days later, we were having dinner with my cousin Nancy and she's asking my sister, Boni, all these questions about her 7 trips to Kenya. She's getting very excited and then she says to me "Oh Lynn lets go! If you go, I'll go."  I'm thinking , I have no money and can't really afford 2 weeks off from work.  So I'm just sitting there and all of the sudden I'm wanting to go to Kenya.....Really Lord?  Then she offers me a generous donation to get me started and I'm on my way.

Well, it's time to raise the rest of the money.
So, on February 28th I will be traveling to Kenya with my sister, Boni, my cousin Nancy, my cousin Mary and 8 other women to help build water tank foundation bases and install several water tanks.  Currently, the greatest need in the region Ukambani, Kenya is for clean water. These women have to walk miles every day and sometimes twice a day to find dirty ground water which they hand carry back to their homes. Can you even imagine?  The tanks will collect rainwater during the rainy season and store it for use until the next rains come. This allows them to have clean water for drinking and cooking.  No one should have to live without clean water.

So that's the beginning of my Kenya story.  If you want to be a part of it, jump in. I sure could use the help.
Please pray for our team and God bless you for your prayers and any support.
Love,
Lynn
