Sunday morning, August 13th, Jessica Guy went to the ER for a 9 hour nose bleed when doctors and nurses quickly discovered her kidneys were failing.
Our bold, caring, and free spirited friend has been dealt a blow none of us expected and she desperately needs our help!
It has been determined that Jessi has chronic renal failure due to high blood pressure that was undiagnosed and untreated for 10 to 15 years. Her kidneys are in complete failure with only 2% function left and she will have to have a kidney transplant.
She is currently uninsured because of a recent job transition and will have to wait at least 90 days until Medicare coverage begins. Because of this, a transplant is not yet a possibility.
In the time being, Jessica will need to do dialysis 3 days a week for at least 4 hours at a time. Unfortunately, this will zap her of her energy and require that she not be on her feet for the remainder of the day. After just two treatments, she is feel incredibly ill and has very little appetite. We are incredibly thankful for dialysis, but it will not be an easy road ahead.
Her strength in the midst of this is absolutely outstanding. She's still laughing and has a great attitude, but our prayers, love, and financial support are essential right now!
Jessi is going to have to try to transfer her current job to one closer to family, but will be out of work for several weeks and possibly months until her body adapts to dialysis and the medicine she will be on.
We are asking that you help support this fund to cover her medical bills, car payment, and living expenses. The medical expenses are just beginning and she will have to take another extended leave of absence from work when transplant becomes an option.
Though we cannot take this sickness from her, removing some of the financial burden will truly bless her!
