"I Lost Everything" in Hurricane Iota

Tax deductible
I recently received news of Hurricane Iota's catastrophic destruction from 10 year old Bernice. Her heartbreaking messages and photos began to arrive with Bernice explaining "We flooded. And I lost everything mom, everything. And we are living in the street."

Bernice has called me "Mom" since living with our family nine years ago when she came to Boston for open heart surgery. This operation saved her life and we celebrated her 1st birthday together.

Her family saved the few possessions they could and joined others in makeshift tents made from plastic. The choice was living on the street or staying in an overcrowded shelter with the high likelihood of catching Covid-19.

No longer was the Pandemic their main concern, finding the next meal was. Esperanza-Hope for the Children, Inc. 501 (c) (3) has been working in Honduras for the past 19 years. We are raising funds to provide Bernice and her family with food, clothing and shelter, life's basic necessities. Please help Esperanza save one child at a time.
