"Vermeer of the Borscht Belt" post-production

Donation protected

For years, artist Drew Friedman has chronicled a strange, alternate universe populated by forgotten Hollywood stars, old Jewish comedians and liver-spotted elevator operators.

"Drew Friedman: Vermeer of the Borscht Belt" is an in-depth documentary tracing Friedman's evolution from underground comics to the cover of the New Yorker.

For the past two years, filmmaker Kevin Dougherty has been firmly entrenched in the world of Shemp, Lou Jacobi and Bobby Barber via the extraordinary talents of artist Drew Friedman. Now, the finish line is in sight. We are in the middle of post-production
and bringing this epic project to fruition.

We could not have traveled this far without your help and we are forever grateful. The editing process is the last obstacle we have to cross and we are reaching out once again for help from all our friends who have supported us in the past.

Most of the funds we are soliciting will go towards getting everything in shape for release. We have various editing, legal and overhead costs that are yet to be resolved. We have a distributor in place for streaming and home-media but we are still in the red and
will be for some time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Kevin Dougherty
