'Ohana Night in Waianae, HI

Hi everyone!
My name is Craig and I live on the west side of Oahu. Near me is a community named Waianae. Waianae is a beautiful place full of beautiful people, but is definitely a community in need of some aloha. Many of Waianae's families struggle to feed themselves and their children when school is not in session. To address this, they rely on meals provided during the school year and food donations offered through the school system during the summer.
On July 24, 2019, Waianae High School is hosting an event called 'Ohana Night. During the event, volunteers from all across Hawaii will help to distribute 15-20 pounds of food (donated by our local Food Bank) to up to 350 families. In addition, each family will also be fed dinner and enjoy a cooking demo!
I work for an organization that is helping to support 'Ohana Night. In addition to feeding these families, we have been asked to provide school and hygiene supplies for the keiki (children). If you can find it in your heart, please donate to our cause so that we can purchase and donate as many supplies as possible to this amazing community.
In February of this year, I volunteered for the very first 'Ohana Night. Though thankful for the opportunity to help, I came in with no other expectations. And I left with a newfound appreciation for service, for community, and for the amazing, resilient people of Waianae.
Please submit any and all donations by 5:00PM Hawaii time on Monday, 7/22/19. You can rest assured that 100% of the proceeds will be spent solely on school and hygiene supplies,.
