What "If I'd Been The One" To Help?

Along with Don Barnes, Donnie Van Zant, and Jeff Carlisi, Larry Steele helped write some of the songs that make up the soundtrack of my life. During his years as the stage manager for 38 Special he helped create live concert performances that will live in my memory always. 

As a life long, loyal fan of the band 38 Special, I was thrilled to discover Larry's incredible book, "As I Recall" and I reached out to him, to thank him, for it. In short order I felt as if I had known him and his wife Theresa for years, and quickly came to think of them as dear friends. 

Larry was a force of nature but sadly, after a hard fought battle with cancer, the disease won. With that battle came astronomical medical costs. Theresa has been forced to deal not only with the devastating loss of her soulmate but also to face the never ending bills. The medical and funeral expenses are simply overwhelming.  Theresa is currently in a MOST dire situation. She is under enormous pressure from the bank where Larry’s mortgage is held and is desperately doing all she can to keep from being foreclosed on. She has already suffered the loss of her beloved husband, now she faces the unimaginable loss of her home too. 

She is strong...one of the strongest people I ever met...and is the last person to complain or ask for help. In fact, she is always saying that others need help more...she is always worrying about others.
But in times of need good friends gather together and step in to ease the burdens of one another...and now is our chance to help ease Theresa’s worries.

If you are a part of the amazing 38 Family then you know how much we all owe Mr. Steele. And in true *Special Forces* fashion, let's circle those wagons, corral the horses, and show Theresa how much we care. None of us can do it alone but together we can move mountains. 

Every single person who knew Larry Steele will remember him forever...his sense of humor, his talent, yes but more so for his giving nature, his heart. He had a huge capacity to love, to make you feel as if you had known him forever even if you had just met him. He would do anything for others. 

And his beloved wife Theresa is the same...strong, giving, loving. I treasure her friendship. Everyone who knows her feels the same way. 

Let's show them our hearts and just how loving this 38 Family is. If you enjoyed Larry’s book...if any of the songs he helped create touched you at all...please...I am begging you to reach out and help.
