"Austin's Army" Celebration of Life

Donation protected

Thank you for being here and taking the time to read this. Austin's journey has been a long one filled with emotion, hope, uncertainty and most of all; LOVE.

The second oldest of 6 siblings, Austin was a phenomenal hockey player, a witty and hilarious brother, the dance floor king and a young man with the biggest heart. His 27 years on earth have touched more people than we can comprehend. Hundreds of messages have come in telling of how Austin has always made everyone feel special, how he would take the time to go out of his way to ensure others felt comfortable and included. He loved with all of his heart, constantly made people laugh and held his family in high regard.

Hockey was his life and he was amazing at it. He was known for his shooting skills, his puck control and his chatter box. All around he was a leader and a captain to most of the teams he played on. Austin's incredible charm and confidence was unmatched. Whether he was one the ice, traveling with his team or out with his friends, his love for life and care-free spirit made everyone gravitate toward him.

Austin was diagnosed with brain cancer 6.5 years ago.  Glioblastoma stage 4 to be exact. He underwent brain surgery not once but twice and superceded the doctors terms. Everyone who knows his journey, knows he's been through a  grueling 6.5 years with his mom and family by his side every step of the way. Through chemo and radiation treatments to hospital stays and pain meds, he's always been optimistic. His witty remarks and funny stories lifted everyone's spirits when we needed it most.

Our hearts are heavy today as we said our last goodbyes to a friend, brother, son, grandson and team mate lastnight. His infectious smile will live on in our hearts and minds forever. He fought a good fight and now he's with his creator, cheering all of us on.  Until we see you again Austin, we love you more than we can say and not a day goes by that we won't see your smiling face and feel your incredible spirit.

Thank you for your kind donations.
All money raised will go toward Austin's celebration of life (details to come) and other medical expenses. We appreciate all of you and we look forward to hearing more stories of Austin.
