My name is Quinn Garrison Weaver, and I am a Life Scout with Troop 2012 working toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout—the highest honor in Scouting. For my Eagle Project, I am planning and leading the construction of five bat and five bird houses for the Hidden Valley Nature Preserve in Southern California, between Norco and Riverside. This project is designed to support local wildlife by providing safe habitats for bats and birds, which play an important role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
This project is especially meaningful to me and my family. We had a family friend pass away from West Nile Virus due to mosquitoes in our area. By building these bat and bird boxes, I hope to help reduce the number of mosquitoes and honor our friend’s memory. I have already met with and received approval from the administration overseeing the Hidden Valley Nature Preserve in Southern California, between Norco and Riverside, which is operated by Riverside County Parks. The funds raised will be used to purchase the materials needed to bring this project to life.
Thank you for supporting my personal growth and this important cause. Your contribution will help me build leadership and organizational skills, and together, we can make a lasting, positive impact on our community and environment. Any donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to achieving my goal and making a difference.
