Support for Quinette Green

Three years ago Quinette experienced a health crisis involving her lungs. It was a mystery and the medical professionals couldn’t figure out what was wrong. The lung problem resulted in her body no longer being able to control her blood pressure and meds were not working either.  Q experienced extremely horrible side effects from the blood pressure meds.  The inability to control her highly elevated blood pressure eventually caused her kidneys to fail.

In 2017, Q was working two jobs: one full time and another part time to help fund a trip to NYC for her daughter to participate in an orchestra competition.  Despite being fatigued, dizzy and nauseous, she made sure she completed her commitment to the part time job before leaving it.  At the same time, Q was looking for a new primary doctor as she had understandably lost faith in hers due to the doctor's failure to to advocate for her.

After several trips to the ER, Q still had no answers.  It got to the point where she could no longer walk five feet without gasping for air.  Q got a ride to the ER and was finally admitted.  She spent nine days in the ICU.  They were still unable to control her blood pressure, and on top of it all, she was no longer able to produce urine. Q had to have a port installed so that she could start dialysis.

After Q was released from the hospital, she was very ill from the high dosage medications she was prescribed and she was unable to get out of bed without assistance for five months.

I think everyone who knows Q also knows that her kids are her life.  I cannot even imagine how tough it was for her to have to depend on them when they still depend on her so much.  Her daughter started having panic attacks due to Q's health decline.  At this point Q was going to dialysis three times a week (and still is) in addition to making sure her daughter could get to therapy and school functions.  During this time her son and her daughter's best friend's mom helped out as much as they could.

Quinette is now in end stage kidney failure.  She has not made it on to the donor list yet---but is definitely looking for a live match.  However, this fundraiser is focusing on getting Q some much needed financial relief.  Q continues to work full time, be a mommy to two and spend three days a week at dialysis.  The dialysis alone is exhausting and makes her ill.

All of this costs money.  Q is really struggling right now.  Her medical costs are through the roof and she is stressed out.  The anxiety and stress caused by watching her finances get out of control is also taking a toll on her health.  Stress is as much of a killer as kidney failure.  So she really is in urgent need of all of our financial assistance.

I know for a fact that Q would help any one of us out if we were in her shoes.  I am hoping we can all come together to at least help her out of the financial hole this medical crisis has dug for her.  Any little bit you can donate will be so much appreciated.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
