Quiles' Family Hurricane Relief

Imagine this for a moment … everyone you know and love has just been through one of the worst natural disasters of your lifetime. They are without power and running water, their homes have been torn apart and they are left to put the pieces of their once quiet life back together, brick by brick. You are several hundreds of miles away and have not been able to speak to them other than short, broken phone calls because the service they are receiving has been damaged severely. Now, imagine that you are sitting there, helpless, because not only have they been struck by a devastating storm, another is steadfast on its way, while your loved ones sit directly in its path with no way to retreat or find adequate safety.

What would you do?

The above describes Carlos Quiles who now resides here in the States, while his family still resides in his homeland of Puerto Rico, and that is exactly what he has just lived through. Last month, Carlos’ family was struck by Hurricane Irma as it impacted most of his country of Puerto Rico. While his family and friends were working to rebuild their life from the destruction, sadly they were hit again, this time by Maria, which destroyed all they had repaired along with most of the remaining structures that were still standing after Irma. Carlos has made it his mission to travel down to Puerto Rico to hands-on help rebuild his childhood community and look after his family during this devastating time.

Carlos is known in his Saint Petersburg, Florida community as one always first in line to help those around him and in need. And that’s why his community is giving back to him and his family. Many years ago, Carlos found his way into my family’s life being an instant light that could brighten even the darkest room. His compassion and love for helping others has stood out and made him a cornerstone in all of the lives he has blessed with entering. From simple acts of kindness to the most incredible gestures of a true humanitarian, Carlos exudes the qualities we look to find in every being on this earth and shares his love with all that are around him.

It is Carlos’ hope that he can provide immediate help to those without power, water and necessary rations to be able to live. With the donations of those contributing, Carlos will purchase:

·        Generators and Fuel

·        Food

·        LifeStraws for water purification

·        Any and All supplies needed for an adequate quality of life

·        Provide hands on assistance to help rebuild the community that he calls “home”

If the people he is helping are half the man that we all know him to be, then this will be a small gesture of appreciation to a population of people with enormous hearts and a drive to improve the world around them. I ask that you please find it in your heart to contribute any amount to help send relief to a country in dire need.

To ensure that your donations will be used properly, Carlos has committed to making sure every detail of what is purchased will be documented and he will share that along with his journey to help rebuild his community in PR with everyone who donates through this page. Additionally, the donations are running through a verified 501C3 charity, and are tax deductible.

May god bless Carlos, his family, childhood community and all of those affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

About the campaign starter:

My name is Anthony Trofe, and over the years I have made it my mission to try and help those in need. I am blessed enough to have a very fortunate life in Florida that I share with an incredible wife, Shanda, our two beautiful dogs and being surrounded by the most amazing friends and family anyone could ever ask for. Recently a dear family friend of ours has had a natural disaster affect his entire family in his homeland of Puerto Rico, and we would like to be able to help in any way we can. This is just a small gesture of what we hope to repay Carlos for all of his love and compassion that he has shown us and the people around us. Again, I would like to thank all of those who can help and my deepest wishes go out the all of those impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. 100% of every donation will be given the Family and Community in Puerto Rico.
