Rwandan Mezuzahs Matzah and More!

Donation protected
We're off to Rwanda, tickets purchased bH and getting ready to roll! Because organizing seder there happened so quickly, we only have THREE days to fundraise, shop and get all the seder & Jewish supplies we want to bring. Matzah, mezzuzahs (they ain't cheap), Kosher wine, maror, charoset, kippot and many other ritual items... Will you help us provide a beautiful Seder experience for these folks?!

There are about 25 Jewish families (American and Israeli expats) plus a handful of international volunteers&students in/near Kigali, Rwanda with no synagogue, Rabbinic leadership for the holiday, nor all the supplies to make it all happen. Additionally, while organizing this all, a need for matzah was requested from practicing Jewish communities in Uganda, India and zimbabwe so we hope to send supplies to them too ASAP!

So if you love this idea like we do, we invite you to chip in in to the project! Throw down now, quick, let's hook up some Jews around the world! Time is short :)

Also, if you are enjoying reading this, there's more.... We began reaching out to see who would want to join in and we are already in touch with international volunteers that can't believe this is really happening!

But whyyyyy is such a funny random idea so meaningful and powerful to me? Well, when I was an international student in the middle of West Africa, not religious but really craving some tradition and meaning, a rumor went around that Rabbis(!?) had shown up on campus and were asking if there were any Jews around. They came half way around the world, looking for people like ME, to make sure I had a place to be for the high holidays. I was stunned. Someone should care so much for me?? Someone who doesn't even know me?

As fate would have it, I, the international student, ended up going back to that expats home again and again
for many Shabbatot and such... we are good friends til this day, almost 15 years later, and it was her graciousness and sending out of the Rabbis that year became a large part of my tshuva story. So if we could do such a gracious act for even a handful of students, wow... what beautiful serendipity...

Hopefully the seder will be awesome. Hopefully, with your loving generosity we can all make this wonderful window for so much holy potential a possibility!

Thank you so much for your support. I love this stuff. The stuff of life.
