Hello, my name is Paige Murphy, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this story. A queer family, near and dear to my heart, are in need of assistance. As many of you know, post election, many things are uncertain, but one thing that is certain is the fear circling the queer community. To respect privacy, I will leave out their names, but can share a little bit about the family in need.

The family is: two parents, 3 children and a medically dependent relative. Both parents are active members of Arkansas' art community. One parent served in the US Army for 10 years, and their medically dependent relative served in the US Army for 6.5 years as well. One parent works full time but one parent was unexpectedly laid off from work due to budget cuts. This impacted their health care coverage, savings account, and day to day lives. Add the election into the mix, and you're got the perfect storm. This family needs a safer space than Arkansas is able to provide.

The funds would go to: a U-Haul and its fuel, so that they will have a chance to take sentimental items, any fees for terminating leases early, utility deposits at the new space, and any down payments needed to acquire the new space.

The family is relocating to a northeast state by Feburary 24, 2025, and could really use our help. The adults of the family are collectively working to continue to pay bills, while saving up for the move. The unemployed parent and disabled dependent have been working odd jobs to make ends meet. Every little bit helps.

The goal of this fundraiser is to assist with renting a moving truck, fuel for the drive up to the northeast, any expenses between AR & the northeast, and any deposits needed in the new northeast home. The family has agreed to post any and all receipts for anything purchased with the gofundme donations.
