Queens's Hills Poppy Appeal

Donation protected

This is a wonderful opportunity for the residents of Queen’s Hills to honour all those who have given their time and life in service. This year marks the 100 year anniversary of the Royal British Legions Poppy Appeal. We as a community make such a wonderful effort dressing our houses and community areas for Halloween, VE day and Christmas, I thought it would be nice to see the lamp posts in our community dressed with red remembrance poppies for Remembrance Day!

Wearing a poppy is a show of support for the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

It represents all those who lost their lives on active service in all conflicts; from the beginning of the First World War right up to present day. It also honours the contribution of civilian services and other uniformed services which contribute to national peace and security and acknowledges innocent civilians who have lost their lives in conflict and acts of terrorism.

Each poppy is £4 per poppy or you may sponsor 3 for £10.

Norfolk County Council is supporting this initiative. They will be erecting and removing the poppies through their streetlight contractor and they have gifted public liability insurance prior to erection of the poppies in order to make this community event possible!
