Queens Feeds Hospitals Fundraiser

Both Elmhurst and Mt Sinai Hospitals in Queens are currently overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients and healthcare workers are working around the clock to take care of our community. Elmhurst Hospital alone lost 13 patients to COVID in one day on 3/25/2020.
These front-line doctors, nurses, and aides are putting their own health at risk while taking care of our neighbors and loved ones and we wanted to find something to do to help. We learned that the staff at these hospitals have been skipping meals and surviving on vending machine snacks while working back to back shifts. We decided to start a fundraiser aimed at getting proper meals to these folks while they're on the job.
Our original goal was $500 and we exceeded that amount in 24 hours resulting in a $6,000 day-one raise. We decided to expand our reach and partner with Queens Feeds Hospitals to see how many meals we could deliver if we aimed even higher. QFH are a group of local Astorians that have already contacted hospitals (Mt Sinai, Elmhurst and NYP) to set up daily food delivery. It’s all donation / volunteer based and 100% of proceeds are dedicated to our collective mission.
