Queen City Brewery Cookbook Fund

Donation protected
For two years, I have had the joy of sampling many of the beers from Queen City Brewery in South Burlington, Vermont. With the very first sip of the Yorkshire Porter, I tasted an amazing chocolate note. I took the beer and added it to my own decadent chocolate fudge cake recipe, and was thrilled with the outcome. Today I have created over 25 recipes using the Queen City beers, and I am now in the process of creating a signature cookbook to share with anyone who would like to buy a copy.

But this book is not just a check off of my personal bucket list, I wanted it to have value to other people as well. I asked the Brewmaster, Paul Hale and his wife Ellen Zeman, "Of the many community service organizations that you are a part of, is there one that is near and dear to your heart?" Without hesitation, they said the Vermont Family Network. The VFN has helped the family with services providing them with emotional support, personal care, and valuable resources to help them care for their daughter Sophie. Sophie was diagnosed at the age of two with a very rare form of Muscular Dystrophy, and has been the center of the world for Ellen and Paul. I couldn't be happier to do anything I can possibly do to help raise funds for this great organization, this family, and to help promote a really neat brewery as well.

This is where you come in, you have the opportunity to also be a part of this great event!! In the next 3 months, please donate whatever you can to help launch this book and get it published! We are partway through the publishing process right now, and we need the funds to get it to the printer and for sale.

I will be hosting a fundraiser in the fall to benefit the VFN, and part of the book sale price will go directly to them. The more I can raise for the publishing, the more money I can donate directly to the VFN on that night.

I'm not alone in this fun, I have a great team behind me as well, Kim McQueen of the Champlain College Publishing Initiative will lead the way! I have hired Emma Reed, a recent Champlain Graduate, to do the Graphic Design work. I have also hired Mike Jacobs, as my photographer and photo editor. Mike is an employee of Champlain College and works in the Media Services department. Tiffany Harbrecht, another Champlain College employee, will do the final editing. So I have tied this project as locally as possible to my college, I am a proud 2014 Champlain College alumni, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.

Your support means so much to me, I have enjoyed being a chef for over thirty years, and I have dreamed of publishing a cookbook for many years.  This is my chance! Please feel free to donate whatever you like, every little bit helps. Please share this GoFundMe with others, by posting it on your Facebook or Twitter feed!

I am so greatful for your support!
