<div><strong>Kai update</strong>

</div>

<div>Sensitive information. Different from prior updates.

</div>

<div>I have been trying to find the words for a while now... but there are really no words for the update we received.

</div>

<div>Kai has been limping again. We contacted his doctors, and they did a blood test. It came back elevated, so they ordered an MRI stat.

</div>

<div>They found that <strong>Malikai's cancer is back, and with a vengeance</strong>. It has already spread throughout his bone marrow, and he has a new tumor growing behind his right kneecap. His doctors have said there are clinical trials of chemo we could do, but the probability of it working is slim to none. And we are just delaying the inevitable...

</div>

<div>They have informed us there is no cure for Kai's cancer and that this cancer will ultimately take his life within weeks to months.

</div>

<div>He has a PET scan scheduled for next Friday to see if it is in his organs also.

</div>

<div>Our family has decided we do not want to keep putting Kai through all the side effects of chemo and medicine, and we, as well as his doctors, are focused on his quality of life at this time.

</div>

<div>Kai is happiest when he is home, surrounded by loved ones and doing happy, fun things. Not in a hospital halfway across the state.

</div>

<div>They have brought on a palliative doctor (pain management doctor) to help walk this path with us and keep Kai comfortable.

</div>

<div><strong>We don't know how much time we have, only God knows. But we plan to enjoy every second, every minute of every day.</strong>

</div>

<div>I cannot talk on the phone right now. There is too much raw emotion. Why our baby?! Why did last month we have hope, and now there is no longer hope?! How is this all happening so fast?!

</div>

<div>Our hearts are completely shattered...

</div>

<div>We have to stay strong for our kids who are struggling. But I felt it is time to let all know, who have been praying for Malikai and our family and who love him just as we do.

</div>

<div>We need time. More time... please continue to pray for the days to come. This pain is unimaginable.

</div>

<div>Also, our kids do not know or comprehend the severity of everything. So I would appreciate not speaking to them about any of it. Thank you.
