QTPOC Fundraiser for Black Trans Travel Fund

[Black Boxx] is an LGBTQ+ celebration and fundraiser for Black Trans Travel Fund. This event aims to uplift and center the lives of queer and trans people of color and our contributions to the culture through connecting with each other. We're excited to feature the musical works of LGBTQ+ creatives Adzua, La Morena and BELLADONNA! Blaq Boxx asks for your support in our effort to create an inclusive space for our folks to come thru, show out and SWEAT!
The collected funds will contribute to the Black Trans Travel Fund fundraiser, cover event space expenses and compensate performers, staff and DJs.
The Black Trans Travel Fund is a mutual-aid project developed in order to help provide Black transgender women with the financial resources needed to be able to self-determine safer alternatives to travel, where women feel less likely to experience verbal harassment or physical harm. This project was created out of direct response to the relentless and unacceptable violence Black transgender women across the country have been experiencing. They currently provide services to Black trans women in New York and New Jersey, and will be working to expand efforts to other states soon.
Adzua (@adzua) | Originally from Dallas, TX, and currently based in Austin, Adzua is a part of Mosaico X, a vinyl dance duo and plays guitar in Mamis, a tropi psych three piece. As a DJ, Adzua's sets are a mixture of techno, club, and international dance offerings that can level up a crowd!
La Morena (@lamorena_) | La Morena is Trans Latinx Woman from the border town of Brownsville, Texas. With some baile fund, cumbia, electronic and reggaeton beats, she loves to see queer folks just enjoy a safe space without judgement. In a male dominated industry, she wants to take over and let the girls have it.
BELLADONNA (@bellad.nna) | Belladonna is a musician and performance artist known for her super-star stage presence and unapologetic message encouraging self love, individuality, and femme-empowerment.
