Burial Expenses for Mom

Mom was transported to DFW for rehabilitation care. Unfortunately, we believe she had a 2nd stroke, or became gravely ill due to an allergic reaction to a medicine given to her while at the facility. We moved her to hospice on August 17th. After a short 24 hour stay, she went home to Heaven on August 18, 2017 at around 8:30 pm. Mom has 4 plots in Houston for our family. After contacting the funeral home, we were shocked to learn of the expense to actually use the plot. It will be between 6 and $8000 to transport and bury my mom with a minimalistic service. I do know she didn't want to be cremated, which is why she purchased the plots. We are unable to use the other plots as collateral, per the funeral home. Mom must be transported quickly to avoid cremation. We would appreciate ANY help you can provide. If you have questions, please text, email, or call me.

Last Monday my mom had a massive stroke, causing her to be transported via life flight to Ochsner's Hospital in NOLA. We immediately drove to the hospital to be with her. My sweet 7 year old has been such a wonderful grandson during this rough time. Mom was not expected to live through this, but thanks to everyone's prayers, she has made serious improvements. She is able to walk with assistance, swallow pureed foods, and even follow along with simple conversations. Her right side was completely paralysed, but now she is able to move her arm and leg. She still can't feel them the same, but it's a start! The cost to transport her back to Texas must be paid for by family. She has been accepted into a rehab program close to my Aunt and me. This facility will give her the best chance to improve her condition, and will teach her to exist with her disabilities. Food and lodging are becoming pricey here in NOLA. My Aunt, Uncle, Noah, and I rarely leave her bedside. She still wakes up disoriented and needs familiar faces to remind her where she is, and how she got here. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you can't contribute financially, please continue to pray for her health and comfort. My mom has been a great mom to many of our friends growing up. She has sacrificed so much for us during her lifetime. We want to be able to safely and swiftly transport her to an awesome place in order to better provide for her.
