Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In this Thanksgiving season, we ask for your continued prayers. Our family has been thrown into an overwhelming situation. My loving 25 yr old daughter Ocean, sister of 6 and single mother of 2 was the victim of a reckless driver in a Chevy cobalt racing past them at 130 mph he clipped the back end of an oncoming Ram pick up truck and caused the truck to spin out of control landing directly in front of them, she was hit head on as a passenger in a friend's car. She has been uniquely blessed by this unfortunate situation. Her blessing was only to discover that she has a large 6.5x5.5x4.5cm. mediastinal teratoma or tumor next to her heart on the right side and lungs behind her breastbone. Recent discovery of another tumor on her diaphragm though much smaller, 1"X 2" is yet another wrench in the works.
An amazing observation by the state trooper on the scene put it this way, “I’ve never seen a worse accident (27 yrs of service)and I’m surprised that anyone walked away, let alone lived.” Ocean was unharmed, except trauma from the seat belt, airbag and severely bruised knees and ribs and a toe. Truly she was protected by Father on his Seong Hwa, it was a miracle of God. This accident prompted the x-ray and further tests to reveal this birth defect.
Now, without Ocean’s income and the unforeseeable expenses as she can't work and needs to be able to heal in peace after her major surgery. They may have to cut a rib in half to be able to remove the tumors as they have to be kept intact, not one cell can remain. Surgery is scheduled with Dr. Steiner at Morristown Hospital at 8:30 am. Dec. 5th, 2018. He has done only 3 other teratoma surgeries, so prayers for his hands and his tools to be guided well, are appreciated.
We are not able to afford basic expenses and that’s where we hope you can help. Please pray and if you’ve been blessed, then donate knowing that it is for a good cause. Transportation to and from the hospitals, living expenses, and a nice Christmas for her children, our grandchildren are hoped for.
Ocean is an entrepreneur and a skilled interior designer, this income seems to be a distant dream as of right now, as everything has gone to deal with this situation.
