Hello friends and family,
My sister, Amanda, is currently going through the hardest time of her life. About a year ago, her husband was arrested for attacking her and putting their 6 children in danger. After a long and drawn out preliminary trial, he finally pled guilty to the felony charges of domestic abuse. He has now filed for divorce and the battle for custody of the children is beginning.
There is, of course, a concern for the children's safety. So, what is called a "730 evaluation" has been requested by my sister and will be carried out by the court. The evaluation takes a close look at both parents. The reason I am starting the gofundme, is because - as you can imagine - these things aren't cheap.
Since I became aware of the situation I have not really known how to help. However, there are now some real monitary needs to be met. The evaluation itself is going to cost my sister $7,000. The reason that I have set the goal at $10,000 is because she is also going to need a divorce lawer. Amanda has told me this will be another $3,000.
I understand that this is a lot of money and that is why I've started this thing. Because if many people can band together, we can really help a woman in need. She has been a stay-at-home mom for the past 12 years and she is homeschooling all 6 of her little ones. Ethan is the oldest and is now the man of the house at the age of 12. Alyssa is 9, Alora is 7, Andrew is 5, John-John is 3, and Michael is 7 months old.
