What is Miracle Money you ask? Miracle money is your donation to help Southern Siberian Rescue’s new foster dog, Miracle, a two month old Siberian Husky puppy that was turned into a local shelter on September 9 when his owners of 4 days realized he was sick and didn’t have the money to care for his medical needs. He was surrendered to Wake County Animal Shelter very anemic, with stark white gums, bloody diarrhea, lethargic, and hadn’t eaten for 3 days. The shelter called Southern Siberian Rescue immediately because he needed a blood transfusion to elevate his PCV level of 8, when he needs a PCV level of 30-50. SSR rushed Miracle to Animal Emergency Hospital and within hours he received his first blood transfusion which elevated his PCV count to 20 and he is still holding. Miracle’s fecal tested positive for hookworms, roundworms and coccidia so he was dewormed and on Albon for the coccidia. 

Miracle will remain at the ER hospital until his PCV levels rise and may require another blood transfusion if his levels drop to 15 or below. We are trying to avoid that by getting him to eat but so far he has remained iffy on food, although he did finally eat some on Monday evening (Sept 10). Miracle is on the mend with ER care and on the right track. To date his expenses are $2200 and rising and we need your help to get him where he needs to be.
