There are angels in Brownsville, TX. Every day they walk across the Matamoros Bridge into Mexico and feed a hot meal and take water to people waiting their turn to ask for asylum in the USA. These are families, women with babies, pregnant women, small children, Moms, Dads and older kids. It can take months before it’s “their turn” to ask the USA for asylum. They have traveled over a thousand miles, frequently in caravans. These angels feed them.
These angels also meet them again once they are let out of the prisons, where they are taken once they are granted access into the USA. They are taken to these ice cold prisons and given a space blanket for warmth. They often sleep on a cement floor. They may be held for days or months as there doesn’t seem to be a system for how long they are held in captivity.
Once they are released the angels that make up Team Brownsville meet them again, they feed them, they buy them a bus ticket to where their relative in the USA lives, they give them a change of clothing (if Team Brownsville has the clothes), they hand them a bag with ready to eat food and water to last for the trip; which can take up to 4 full days and nights on buses.
Team Brownsville needs water for the people waiting in Mexico and water for the people to take on their bus journey, who can refill the bottles along the way.
Once this gofundme has reached $400. I will send the first pallet of water.
If any money ends up left over I will contribute it to Team Brownsville.
