Raising Money for Our Mother's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Stephanie. I am the youngest of three children. I am raising money for our mother Sharon's funeral. She passed away on June 29th, 2024, just one and a half months after being given 6-12 months to live on hospice care. My siblings and I are now attempting to ensure she has a beautiful funeral without being overwhelmed with financial burden.

A little bit about Sharon:

My mother lived an incredibly difficult life. When she was a child, she was paralyzed with rheumatic fever, but was able to overcome that as she grew up in the small town of Bedford, VA.

As she became a teenager, she endured numerous hardships with her family but only grew into a more loving, kind person due to those hardships.

As an adult, my mother struggled with addiction and mental health issues well into her life until 2007 when she became a born-again Christian and was able to rid her life of her vices.

She overcame her problems with incredible strength, love, and unwavering passion to improve her life and spread kindness and joy wherever she went. If you ever met her, you knew that even though she didn't have much, she would give you the shirt off her back, her last can of food in her cupboard, or just a shoulder to cry on.

As she aged, she was blessed to become a grandmother of two beautiful little girls and got to help shape their lives and show them how to be strong, but more importantly how to be kind.

Apart from her actual grandchildren, she also touched many lives of the children in the church she attended. She would always bring candies for them and encouraged all of the children to be themselves and to enjoy life.

Unfortunately, the damage my mother did to her body began to show the lasting effects in the past 3 years. In the last year especially, her physical body was starting to deteriorate, but her spirit never gave up. No matter what she felt like, she was always there for her children, grandchildren, and really anyone that needed a friend.

She gave back to her children everything she could and it's our turn now to make sure we do the same for her.

Sharon's three children and her remaining family give you our sincerest appreciation for reading this, sharing, and donating what you can.
