Recovery from house fire

Hi our names are Lee and Jessy and we are asking for help fundraising because.. in the early hours of Wednesday morning 1.03.2023 we experienced a nightmare that we hope no one else ever has to experience! Jessy was woken up by Eivor our Siberian husky, as she opened the dining room door she was greeted by flames and smoke engulfing our dining room and kitchen! As she screamed for Lee all she could think was Eivors puppies are trapped in there! As lee began to try and heroically rescue them we genuinely believed we had lost them as how could they survive flames and smoke like that! Whilst Jessy got the kids to safety and rang the fire brigade, Lee and one of our incredible neighbours made numerous attempts to go in and save all of our animals that were trapped! If it hadn’t been for these attempts we would of lost them all, Lee managed to get to Fenrir our male Siberian husky but it became too dangerous to continue trying to get Eivor and her puppies and Freja our French bulldog! With heartbroken screams and cry’s all we could do is stand and watch everything we love and own burn until the fire brigade came! Those ten minutes felt like forever, but we will forever be grateful and thankful for the incredible support our neighbours and community showed us by looking after our children whilst we were too unwell too! Miraculously and we cannot explain how all of our animals including our puppies were rescued and saved by the incredible firefighter team that attended that night! Due to trying to rescue our animals we suffered smoke inhalation, lee suffering more with swollen airways and high levels of carbon monoxide in his blood and Jessy with blistering of the airways! The children only suffered mild smoke inhalation, and we were all discharged late yesterday afternoon! The puppies and Freja received emergency medical attention and we’re kept at the vets until our release from hospital! The fire was caused by our puppy heat lamp setting alight, all of our fire alarms failed until the smoke came out of the kitchen and if it hadn’t of been for Eivor waking Jessy up we would of all lost our life’s! It’s safe to say we are in shock, and hoping we will wake up from this nightmare! We have lost pretty much everything due to the extent of smoke damage and the whole of the downstairs of our property being destroyed! We are asking for any help possible so we can start to rebuild our lives and home! We are currently being looked after by lee parents in Portsmouth whilst we wait to hear about our home, and are again so grateful for all the continuous love and support we are being shown!
