Happy 60th Birthday Dad!

Our dad, Larry Schmidt, died 10 years ago on this day, just 4 days shy of his 50th birthday. This year, to remember both the anniversary of his death and his birthday, we are hoping to give back in honor of him. From today (January 8th) through our dad's 60th birthday (January 12th), we are hoping to celebrate our dad's generous spirit and raise some money for a cause that would have been near and dear to him.

In the fall of 2020, a large wildfire ravaged the Grizzly Creek area of Glenwood Canyon, Colorado. This is an area that our family dearly loves and has spent a lot of time. This area is very close to where we ski at Sunlight Mountain, where we have rafted on the Colorado River, and where we have hiked and camped in Grizzly Canyon and Hanging Lakes. If you have ever been to this area, you know that it is one of the most special places on the planet. Following the large fire, the National Forest Foundation has been working to restore the area - rebuilding the trail system and protecting wildlife. As this is a place that our dad loved, and a place that our family intends to visit for many years to come, we would love if you would consider donating to this fund in memory of our dad.

 

All proceeds will be redirected to the "Support the White River National Forest" fund through the National Forest Foundation following our dad's birthday on January 12th.
