Surgery for Onyx

Hey everyone, a close friend of mine has been faced with an extremely difficult decision regarding her sweet furbaby Onyx, and we’d really appreciate if you could help this poor baby. If she is unable to get him the surgery he needs in 2 weeks, she will be forced to put him down as he will continue to suffer. She just lost her husband and cannot imagine losing her dog too. She wants him to be healthy and happy.

My friend has fallen on tremendously hard times, as just over a month ago, her husband passed away unexpectedly. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer, with only a few months to live. This completely devastated her, as he was everything to her. He was the most caring, loving, and devoted husband she could have ever imagined. He was the sole provider for the family, and he did everything he could to make her happy. After his diagnosis, she took care of him and stood by his side, however, with the grieving she is experiencing, some things have become overwhelming for her, such as her dog Onyx, who is an extremely sweet and loving pup. Recently, we found out that Onyx, her 4 year-old pittie, has a very large Perineal Hernia, causing him a great deal of pain and discomfort. The vet said it MUST be removed right away, as he is experiencing severe constipation and losing his appetite. He is so young to be going through this kind of pain :( The surgery Onyx needs is very expensive, and my friend is unable to afford it due to the difficult time she is going through.

Soehnlen Vet is amazing, and has taken Onyx’s story into account, and quoted a discounted price of $400 for the surgery, and $200 dollars for the medicine. It is also advised that he gets neutered to prevent any further complications in the future, so we are seeking a goal of $700.00. As she does not have this kind of money, we are asking for any donation to help us get Onyx the treatment he needs.

The new Vet wants to see Onyx Friday at 2:15 to confirm his diagnosis and run mandatory tests on him.

My friend has decided that she would like to find a new home for him, as this grieving and difficult financial times have become too much for her. She wants Onyx to have a loving home that can take good care of him. Onyx is a very sweet dog who is good with dogs smaller than him, but not good with cats. She is willing to keep him during his surgery, and the process of finding him a new home.

All money will be donated to his surgery and neuter expenses.
