My name is Molly McGlone, I’m an 18 year old girl from Scotland. I suffer with traction alopecia and when I was 11/12 I developed anorexia, which massively contributed to my hair loss. I recovered from this around the age of 16, however my hair has never grown back to the way it was. I also have depression and anxiety and as a coping mechanism I sometimes pull my hair out as well as pick my skin compulsively. My hair is very thin and I have severe bald patches, which affects my mental health and overall confidence. I cut a fringe to hide these bald patches but they’re still visible as my hair is very thin in general. I have been terrified to make something like this as I don’t want to be an inconvenience; even if you just read my story, that’s perfectly okay! I wish to bring awareness to this topic as it is rarely spoken about, especially from people my age. This is something I’ve been embarrassed and bullied about for too long.
