Hoop Dreams

Dear friends and family,

 

Thank you for visiting my fundraiser. My name is Larry Daniels, I am the founder of “Hoop Hard or Get off The Court”. I have been hosting basketball tournaments in Chicago for over five years. I’ve teamed up with Chicago Police and local pastors to help keep our youth safe. I have applied my love for the game of basketball towards an exciting new community project in an area I grew up in, Englewood. I strive hard to make sure children in the community and across the city can benefit from every opportunity I provide. I want children, teens, and young adults to have a safe haven and a basketball court to call home. I want them to build character, display and express their love for the game of basketball. I have been searching throughout the city of Chicago for vacant lots and buildings to build the perfect basketball court and resource center. I want them to come study, shoot a hoop or do homework and feel safe while doing so. I am putting in an effort to build an iconic indoor basketball court, but it’s not easy.

 

This GoFundMe campaign was created to raise the money to execute my vision.

 

* The court will be located in Chicago, IL (Englewood) hoping to secure a lot on West 63rd St.

 

* Chicago has been home to a lot of NBA stars and the Englewood area has been home to some and to a lot of children playing basketball.

 

*This location is close to Chicago Police Department and neighborhood schools that can benefit lot from the center

 

* From networking, visiting other facilities and researching, I’ve learned that a new, quality court and resource center will promote a love for the game of basketball and to help the children academically.

 

* The court will include two new glass backboards, new rims and poles, a completely refinished and painted surface, court markings, and bleachers.

 

*Resource center will include computers, wifi, fax machines and printers
